Qualifications

An Arab-American and a Vermont Juried Artist, Alia draws from four decades of technique, history, regional and folkloric styles, props, theatre, fusion, costuming, music, choreography, improvisation, and performance.

    • Performed an original movement creation in a staged reading of Maya Shaw Gale’s play, “They Say She is Veiled.”(SB)

  • Won the Flynn Center’s NASA Space Grant, to develop a process of group collaboration and improvisation through which the company would create a new concert-length dance suite grounded in the dance, music,and costuming of the Middle East.
